FTF Canada continues to create strong university pathways, as Combine alumni Cohen Hawes has officially committed to St. Francis Xavier University and the STFX X-Men soccer program.
A product of Suburban FC, Hawes earned his opportunity through consistent performances across multiple FTF Canada events, including the Top 60 2025, Halifax Winter Combine 2024, and Halifax Summer Combine 2024. These events provided direct exposure to St. Francis Xavier University staff, who were in attendance identifying top talent.
Hawes’ performances across these high-level environments showcased his ability to compete against some of the top players in his class. His consistency, technical ability, and impact in match play led to direct recruitment interest from STFX. He was also recognized nationally with a #41 ranking in the 2026 Grad Class, further highlighting his standing as a top prospect.
His commitment to St. Francis Xavier University marks the next step in both his academic and athletic career, where he will compete in U SPORTS within the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference, a highly competitive environment in Canadian university soccer.
Hawes’ pathway reinforces FTF Canada’s mission of providing players with meaningful exposure in front of attending university programs. Through events such as the Top 60 Showcase and regional combines in Halifax, players are able to convert strong performances into next-level opportunities.
