Overall MVP – Tyrell Agyare | ST | Cambridge United | 2028 Grad
Tyrell won the Overall MVP award at this edition of Toronto Boys following an electric display up top. From the first moment of the game, his unbelievable space blew away the opposition and the coaches watching on the sideline. His speed allowed him to get into consistent 1v1 situations with the keepers, which he capitalized on many times. He combined his speed with good technique and intelligent movement. Constantly showing an understanding of when to run in behind, peel off his marker, or drop to receive, set, and spin.
Goalkeeper MVP – Sebastian Gonzalez | GK | Greater Sudbury Soccer Club | 2028 Grad
Sebastian was the standout goalkeeper over the two days of the combine and took home the Goalkeeper MVP award. Sebastian’s overall technique was at a very good level while he was on the pitch. He displayed good reflexes, diving technique, and positioning. He was brave to come off his line to claim crosses on multiple occasions as well.
Defender MVP – Nicholas Bellomo | RB | Vaughan SC | 2028 Grad
Nicholas was the standout defender at this edition of the Toronto Boys combine. At right back, he displayed excellent abilities on the ball. Whether it was an attacking 1v1 situation or when he was afforded space to carry the ball, he did it effectively. Defensively, he went into every duel 100% and came out superior in many of his battles. His timing of when to go forward and when to stay back in possession also stood out.
Midfielder MVP – Carson Cathigaser | CM | Pickering FC | 2028 Grad
Carson took home the midfielder MVP award at the combine following an incredibly energetic performance in the middle of the pitch. The first thing that stood out was Carson’s athleticism with and without the ball. Not only his stamina, but his speed and intensity as well. On the ball, Carson is crafty, looking for different solutions the opposition pose to him. He takes good risks on the ball, especially in the final third. He uses his energy well out of possession too, often winning the ball back for his team or helping disrupt the opponent’s flow.
Attacker MVP – Jayden Morgado | RW | Milton Magic | 2028 Grad
Jayden was awarded the Attacker MVP accolade following an excellent performance out wide for Team #2. His technical ability stood out from the first game. A very good first touch and good ability to often beat his man in 1v1 situations. Jayden was very much a risk-taker in possession, looking to execute creative passes and dribbles, which he did to a good degree of success. To top it off, Jayden’s movement in the final third also set him apart – his knowledge of when to get in behind or peel off resulted in him getting into scoring positions often, which he capitalized on a few times.
Young Player MVP – Kalum Robillard | CAM | Vaughan SC | 2030 Grad
Kalum was the standout young player at this edition of the Toronto Boys combine, which led to him being awarded the Young Player MVP award. The first thing that stood out about Kalum was his understanding of the game. Despite his smaller size, he hardly got nudged off the ball because he was consistently finding pockets of space away from the opposition. He combined this with his excellent technical ability – every pass, dribble, and shot was clearly calculated. Kalum finished as one of the top assist leaders at the combine, cementing him as a player to watch in the coming years.
