The race to be Canada’s top U17 (2009) boys team continues to heat up as the summer season reaches its most important stage. Across the country, clubs are separating themselves through league play, showcase performances, tournament results, and consistent development throughout the season. With the BCSPL, PLSJQ, OPDL, APDL, and PSL all producing highly competitive matchups, the battle for national recognition remains extremely tight. Here are FTF Canada’s updated Top U17 (2009) Boys Teams for August 2026.
1. CS St. Hubert (PLSJQ)
Record: 10-0-2
CS St. Hubert continues to set the standard in Quebec and remains one of the strongest U17 teams in the country. Their unbeaten record reflects a team that has consistently controlled matches through organized defending, disciplined possession, and clinical finishing. Against quality PLSJQ opposition, St. Hubert has continued to demonstrate the consistency and depth required to remain at the top of the national rankings.
2. Woodbridge SC (OPDL)
Record: 8-0-0
Woodbridge SC continues to showcase one of Ontario’s deepest and most talented 2009 groups. The club has started its OPDL campaign perfectly and has consistently displayed the technical quality, tactical discipline, and competitive mentality that have become trademarks of the program. With a talented squad capable of competing at the highest level, Woodbridge remains a serious contender for provincial and national honours.
3. Fusion FC (BCSPL)
Record: 13-1-8
Fusion FC remains one of British Columbia’s premier U17 programs and continues to prove itself against some of the country’s strongest competition. Playing in the highly competitive BCSPL, Fusion has consistently found ways to collect results while showcasing excellent depth throughout the squad. Their combination of technical ability, defensive organization, and attacking creativity keeps them firmly among Canada’s elite.
4. Edmonton BTB (APDL)
Record: 13-0-2
Edmonton BTB has put together an outstanding campaign and remains unbeaten heading into the later stages of the summer season. Their consistency on both sides of the ball has separated them from much of the competition in Alberta. With the ability to dictate games through possession, defend with discipline, and create chances consistently, Edmonton BTB continues to establish itself as one of Canada’s toughest U17 teams.
5. Burnaby FC (BCSPL)
Record: 16-3-3
Burnaby FC continues to deliver impressive performances against some of British Columbia’s strongest opposition. Their BCSPL campaign has been highlighted by strong attacking depth, defensive stability, and the ability to perform consistently throughout a demanding schedule. Their experience in high-level matches keeps them firmly in the national conversation and inside Canada’s top five.
6. Saskatoon Alliance Blue (PSL)
Record: 12-2-0
Saskatoon Alliance Blue has quietly put together one of the strongest seasons in the Prairies. Their disciplined defensive structure and efficient attack have allowed them to consistently pick up results, while their ability to remain composed in competitive matches has made them one of Saskatchewan’s top youth sides. Their unbeaten run continues to make them a legitimate national contender.
7. UDFC AAA
Record: 10-2-2
UDFC has emerged as one of Atlantic Canada’s most impressive U17 teams this season. The club combines a hard-working mentality with strong organization across the pitch, making them difficult to break down while still possessing plenty of attacking threat. Their consistent performances have earned them a place among Canada’s top teams heading into August.
8. CS Saint Laurent (PLSJQ)
Record: 9-2-2
CS Saint Laurent continues to be one of the strongest teams competing in the PLSJQ. Their ability to compete consistently against quality Quebec opposition has kept them near the top of the national rankings. With a balanced squad and strong tactical foundation, Saint Laurent remains a team capable of making a deep run in any major competition.
9. North Toronto (OPDL)
Record: 5-0-3 (OPDL Cup Champions)
Aurora FC has shown plenty of promise during its OPDL campaign and continues to establish itself as a strong team within Ontario’s competitive landscape. Their ability to compete against some of the province’s top programs has made them a team to watch as the season progresses. With quality throughout the squad, Aurora remains firmly in the national conversation.
10. QC United (PSL)
Record: 10-1-3
QC United has continued its rise with another impressive campaign. The squad plays with confidence in possession while maintaining strong defensive discipline, allowing them to consistently secure positive results. Their continued improvement throughout the season has firmly established QC United as one of Eastern Canada’s top U17 teams.
