FTF Canada continues to build strong U SPORTS pathways, as Combine alumni Nicholas Alfieri has officially committed to the University of Guelph and the Guelph Gryphons men’s soccer program.
A product of Woodbridge SC, Alfieri earned his opportunity through consistent performances across multiple FTF Canada events, including the Top 60 2024, Toronto Summer Combine 2024, Toronto Winter Combine 2024, and Toronto Winter Combine 2025. These events provided direct exposure to University of Guelph staff, who were in attendance identifying top talent.
Alfieri’s ability to perform across multiple high-level environments played a key role in his recruitment. Competing against some of the top players in his class, he demonstrated strong technical ability, consistency, and competitiveness. His continued performances in front of Guelph staff ultimately led to direct recruitment interest and his commitment to the program.
His commitment to the University of Guelph marks the next step in both his academic and athletic career, where he will compete in U SPORTS within the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference, one of the most competitive university soccer environments in Canada.
Alfieri’s pathway highlights the strength of the FTF Canada platform. Through repeated exposure at events such as the Top 60 Showcase and Toronto Combine Series, players are able to build visibility and convert strong performances into next-level opportunities.
