FTF Canada continues to create pathways across collegiate levels, as Combine alumni Thierry Helgason has officially committed to Keyano College and the Keyano Huskies men’s soccer program.
A product of Saskatoon Alliance, Helgason earned his opportunity through strong performances at the Calgary Winter Combine 2023 and Saskatoon Summer Combine 2024, where Keyano College staff were in attendance identifying prospective student-athletes.
Competing in high-level environments, Helgason demonstrated his ability to perform against strong competition, showcasing his consistency, work rate, and technical ability. His performances across these events led to direct recruitment interest from Keyano College. He was also recognized nationally with a #132 ranking in the 2025 Grad Class, highlighting his development within the Canadian player pool.
His commitment to Keyano College marks the next step in both his academic and athletic career, where he will compete in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) within the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).
Helgason’s pathway highlights the impact of FTF Canada’s regional event platform. Through combines such as the Calgary Winter Combine and Saskatoon Summer Combine, players are provided with direct exposure to attending programs and the opportunity to convert performances into next-level opportunities.
