The U16 (2010) boys division continues to showcase some of the highest-quality youth soccer in Canada, with clubs battling for supremacy across the BCSPL, PLSJQ, OPDL, APDL, and other top development leagues. As the summer season reaches its most important stages, several programs have separated themselves through consistent performances, elite player development, and success against top competition. With provincial championships, major showcases, and the final stages of league play approaching, the competition for national recognition remains extremely tight. Here are FTF Canada’s updated Top U16 (2010) Boys Teams for August 2026.
1. Woodbridge SC (OPDL)
Record: 11-0-0
Umbro Showcase Champions
Woodbridge SC continues to set the standard in Ontario and remains one of Canada’s premier U16 programs. The team enters the summer with tremendous momentum following its Umbro Showcase championship. Woodbridge has consistently demonstrated exceptional technical quality, defensive organization, and composure in high-pressure matches. With one of the deepest squads in the country, they remain a serious contender for another OPDL championship.
2. AS Laval (PLSJQ)
Record: 11-1-2
AS Laval has continued its impressive campaign in Quebec, combining disciplined team play with excellent technical ability. The club has consistently produced results against strong PLSJQ competition while maintaining one of the province’s top player development environments. Their balance throughout the squad and ability to compete in difficult matches have made them a legitimate national contender.
3. Coastal FC (BCSPL)
Record: 17-2-3
Coastal FC has enjoyed another outstanding season and continues to establish itself as one of the country’s most complete teams. Their impressive record reflects an exciting blend of attacking quality, defensive organization, and squad depth. Week after week, Coastal has proven capable of competing with the very best in the BCSPL while maintaining one of Canada’s strongest overall resumes.
4. Coquitlam Metro Ford (BCSPL)
Record: 17-1-4
Coquitlam Metro Ford continues to be one of the strongest teams in British Columbia, producing excellent results in one of Canada’s toughest youth leagues. Their ability to control possession, create scoring opportunities, and consistently earn results has made them one of the country’s most complete U16 sides. With only one defeat all season, Coquitlam remains firmly in the national conversation.
5. Sigma FC (OPDL)
Record: 9-2-1
Sigma FC continues to be one of Ontario’s premier development programs and remains a major threat within the OPDL. The club’s technical quality and ability to develop players capable of performing in high-pressure environments have made them a consistent national contender. With a strong record and plenty of talent throughout the squad, Sigma remains firmly among Canada’s top U16 teams.
6. AS Blainville (PLSJQ)
Record: 8-4-1
AS Blainville continues to be one of Quebec’s most respected youth programs, consistently competing near the top of the PLSJQ. Their organized defensive structure, disciplined style of play, and commitment to player development have allowed them to remain among the province’s elite. Blainville continues to prove it can compete with the best teams in Canada.
7. Edmonton BTB (APDL)
Record: 10-1-2
Edmonton BTB has put together another excellent season in Alberta, combining defensive resilience with an effective attacking style. Losing only once throughout the campaign highlights their consistency and ability to perform against quality opposition. Their disciplined approach and strong team structure have made them one of the APDL’s standout U16 teams.
8. Surrey United (BCSPL)
Record: 7-6-9
Surrey United remains one of Canada’s premier development programs and continues to compete against some of the strongest opposition in British Columbia. The BCSPL remains one of the country’s most competitive leagues, and Surrey’s technical quality, tactical discipline, and ability to produce high-level talent keep them firmly in the national conversation. Few programs match their consistency in developing players for the next level.
9. Ottawa South United (OPDL)
Record: 7-3-1
Ottawa South United has continued to put together a strong OPDL campaign and remains one of Ontario’s most competitive U16 programs. Their ability to consistently earn results against quality opposition has highlighted the depth and organization within the squad. OSU remains a team capable of challenging the province’s best as the season moves toward its most important stages.
10. St. Albert Impact (APDL)
Record: 6-1-4
St. Albert Impact has continued to compete at a high level throughout the APDL season. The club has shown excellent balance across the field, combining disciplined defending with an attack capable of creating chances against strong opposition. Their consistency has earned them another place among Canada’s top U16 programs.
