Girls Edmonton Summer Series 2025

The FTF Edmonton Summer Combine, held at the Edmonton Soccer Centre and Bill Gillespie Soccer Complex from June 30th to July 2nd, was a vibrant showcase of talent! The three-day event kicked off with testing on Day 1, featuring the 30m sprint, 5-10-5 agility test, vertical jump and yo-yo test. Days 2 and 3 focused on gameplay, offering players the opportunity to be coached by college coaches from across North America. These competitive matches allowed participants to impress the attending coaches, both in person and via live stream. The combine was an exciting display of skill, and we are eager to highlight the top performers:

Overall MVP –  Charlotte MacIntyre | FB/WGR | BTB | 2027 Grad

Charlotte MacIntyre, a 2027 Grad from BTB Soccer Academy, was named Overall MVP of the Edmonton Combine after a standout performance. As a fullback/wingback, she excelled in breaking pressure with composure and intelligence, consistently making smart decisions under duress. Going forward, she was a constant threat – whether driving past defenders on the dribble, breaking lines, or creating quality chances in the final third. Her relentless work rate was unmatched, and she backed it up by winning the Yo-Yo test during athletic testing, showcasing her elite engine and physical endurance.

Goalkeeper MVP – Cori Rosenberger | GK | Impact 2010 PDP Girls | 2028 Grad

Cori Rosenberger, a 2028 Grad from St. Albert Impact, earned GK MVP honors at the Edmonton Combine with an all-around standout performance. She was exceptional in shot-stopping situations, displaying sharp reflexes and strong positioning. Composed and confident with both feet, Cori showed impressive distribution and decision-making – knowing exactly when to step out to challenge and when to hold her line. Her technical fundamentals, vocal presence, and ability to play under pressure made her a standout.

Defender MVP – Joyce Ji | FB/CB | Edmonton Scottish United | 2028 Grad

Joyce Ji, a 2028 Grad from Edmonton Scottish United, was named Defensive MVP of the Edmonton Combine after a commanding display across all three days. She was outstanding in the build-out phase, showcasing calmness under pressure and precise passing to initiate attacks. Defensively, Joyce was fearless – strong in the tackle, whether sliding or standing, and showed excellent timing and technique. Despite her smaller frame, she consistently won aerial duels thanks to her impressive leap and anticipation. A very talented and intelligent defender, Joyce is without question a top prospect in her age group.

Midfielder MVP – Jada Mahoney | CM | BTB | 2028 Grad

Jada Mahoney, a 2028 Grad from BTB Soccer Academy, earned Midfielder MVP honors at the Edmonton Combine with a dominant two-way performance. Her athleticism and strong defensive presence allowed her to consistently win challenges and disrupt opposing attacks. Jada showed great awareness in transition, breaking up play and quickly combining with teammates to maintain possession and push the tempo. Her physical tools, work rate, and ability to impact both sides of the ball made her one of the most influential players on the pitch.

Attacker MVP – Leann Soppo Mbem | WGR | BTB | 2028 Grad

Leann Soppo Mbem, a 2028 Grad from BTB Soccer Academy, was named Attacking MVP of the Edmonton Combine after a dynamic showing on the wing. Her explosive athleticism and sharp change of pace made her a nightmare for defenders to deal with throughout the event. When she hit top speed, she was electric – consistently beating players wide and creating a flurry of chances for her teammates in the final third. Her ability to stretch the game and generate offense made her a constant threat and a clear standout in the attacking group.

Young Player MVP – Elliotte McIntosh | CM | Lethbridge FC | 2029 Grad

Elliotte McIntosh, a 2029 Grad from Lethbridge FC, was awarded Young Player MVP at the Edmonton Combine after an outstanding performance well beyond her years. Her ability to combine between lines, read the game, and execute with technical precision made her a constant influence in midfield. Elliotte’s work rate and soccer IQ stood out in every match, and despite being one of the youngest players at the event, she was arguably one of the most impressive overall. Her talent, maturity, and potential point to a very bright future ahead.
