The FTF Toronto Summer Combine, held at David Suzuki and St. Jean Augustine in Brampton, from July 14th to 16th, was a vibrant showcase of talent! The three-day event kicked off with testing on Day 1, featuring the 40-yard dash, 5-10-5 agility test, fitness assessment, and vertical jump. Days 2 and 3 focused on gameplay, offering players the opportunity to be coached by college coaches from across North America. These competitive matches allowed participants to impress the attending coaches, both in person and via live stream. The combine was an exciting display of skill, and we are eager to highlight the top performers:
Overall MVP – Jules Kashindi Monde | ST | Tecumseh United FC | 2028 Grad
Jules Kashindi Monde was named overall MVP of the combine. He is a very clinical finisher who consistently converts chances under pressure which helped him score 5 goals in 4 matches. Physically, he is strong and powerful, which make him hard to defend against, and helps him win battles against defenders especially in one-on-one situations. His quick acceleration and speed make him very dangerous on the field, as he can easily get past opponents. Jules is also a tireless worker on and off the ball, showing unmatched effort throughout the game and who never gives up.
Goalkeeper MVP – Jaxon Ilievski | GK | Tecumseh United FC OPDL | 2028 Grad
Goalkeeper Jaxon Ilievski stood out as the MVP with his outstanding performance in net. He grabs and holds on to the ball with confidence, very rarely letting it slip away. Calm and skilled with the ball at his feet, Jaxon plays like an extra defender when needed. His strong vocal leadership helps organize the team and keep everyone focused. With his tall frame and quick reflexes, he makes tough saves look easy. Jaxon’s all-around presence in goal gives his team a big advantage every game.
Defender MVP – Devon McDonald | CB | LFC IA Mississauga U15 OPDL | 2028 Grad
Devon McDonald is a calm and confident centre back who always stays composed with the ball at his feet. His great positioning allows him to break up plays and stay one step ahead of attackers. He leads the backline well, using his strong vocal skills to organize the team and keep everyone focused. Devon is also very strong in the air, winning important headers on both defense and set pieces. His smart, steady play earned him the Defensive MVP award, showing just how important he is to the team’s success.
Midfielder MVP – Lucas Moniz | CAM | Burlington Bayhawks U15 OPDL | 2028 Grad
Lucas Moniz is a very talented midfielder and showed his agility and impressive dribbling skills every time he had the ball on his feet while moving quickly and smoothly on the field. His smart positioning helps him find open spaces and stay one step ahead of the game. Lucas also shows great vision when pushing forward, always looking to create chances for his team which got him many assists. His aggressive style of play adds energy and pressure in the midfield. These qualities earned him the title of Midfield MVP, making him a key player and a constant threat to the opposition.
Attacker MVP – Tyrell Agyare | ST | Cambridge United | 2028 Grad
Tyrell Agyare was named the attacker MVP for a great performance. He is a very skilled striker with an excellent finishing ability which helped him score the most goals at the combine. Tyrell is always looking for space on the field to make smart runs and get open for scoring chances. He is very fast, which helps him beat defenders when fighting for the ball. Besides his speed and skill, he is a hard worker who never gives up and works hard during the game. His dedication and talent made him a strong player and a key part of his team’s success.
