The race to be Canada’s top U17 (2009) boys team has reached the most important stage of the 2026 season. With league campaigns entering their final stages and several of the country’s top programs competing at major summer tournaments, the national picture has become even more competitive. PDP Nationals, held in Montreal, brought together a high level of U17 competition from across the country and provided another important measuring stick for Canada’s top 2009 teams. Performances at Nationals, along with league results, tournament success, consistency, and head-to-head competition, have all played a role in this month’s rankings. With the BCSPL, PLSJQ, OPDL, APDL, and PSL continuing to produce strong competition, here are FTF Canada’s updated Top U17 (2009) Boys Teams for September 2026.
1. Vaughan SC (OPDL)
Record: 2-1-0 (PDP National Champions)
Vaughan SC continues to set the standard nationally after capturing the PDP Nationals title in Montreal. Their success against a high-level field further highlighted the quality and depth within this 2009 group. Vaughan has consistently demonstrated strong organization, technical quality, and the ability to perform under pressure, making them deserving of the top spot in Canada’s U17 rankings.
2. Woodbridge SC (OPDL)
Record: 2-1-0 (PDP Nationals Runners-Up)
Woodbridge SC continues to showcase one of Ontario’s deepest and most talented 2009 groups. Their run to the PDP Nationals final in Montreal was another strong indication of their ability to compete against the country’s best. With a talented squad capable of playing at a high level in both league and tournament environments, Woodbridge remains one of Canada’s premier U17 teams.
3. Fusion FC (BCSPL)
Record: 13-1-8
Fusion FC remains one of British Columbia’s premier U17 programs and continues to prove itself against some of the country’s strongest competition. Playing in the highly competitive BCSPL, Fusion has consistently found ways to collect results while showcasing excellent depth throughout the squad. Their combination of technical ability, defensive organization, and attacking creativity keeps them firmly among Canada’s elite.
4. Edmonton BTB (APDL)
Record: 13-0-3
Edmonton BTB has put together an outstanding campaign and remains unbeaten heading into the later stages of the season. Their consistency on both sides of the ball has separated them from much of the competition in Alberta. With the ability to dictate games through possession, defend with discipline, and create chances consistently, Edmonton BTB continues to establish itself as one of Canada’s toughest U17 teams.
5. CS Saint Laurent (PLSJQ)
Record: 9-2-4
CS Saint Laurent continues to be one of Quebec’s strongest U17 teams and has consistently competed against quality PLSJQ opposition. Their disciplined structure, technical quality, and ability to manage difficult matches have kept them firmly in the national conversation. With the season entering its final stages, Saint Laurent remains a legitimate contender among Canada’s top 2009 teams.
6. CS St. Hubert (PLSJQ)
Record: 11-1-3
CS St. Hubert continues to impress in the highly competitive PLSJQ and remains one of Quebec’s top 2009 programs. Their strong record reflects a team that has consistently combined organized defending, disciplined possession, and quality attacking play. Their performances throughout the season have established them as a legitimate national contender.
7. Burnaby FC (BCSPL)
Record: 16-3-3
Burnaby FC continues to deliver impressive performances against some of British Columbia’s strongest opposition. Their BCSPL campaign has been highlighted by strong attacking depth, defensive stability, and the ability to perform consistently throughout a demanding schedule. Their experience in high-level matches keeps them firmly among Canada’s top U17 programs.
8. McKenzie United SC (APDL)
Record: 4-5-7
McKenzie United SC remains one of Alberta’s competitive U17 programs and has continued to test itself against strong APDL opposition. Their ability to compete in difficult matches and maintain a strong team structure has kept them in the national rankings. As the season moves toward its conclusion, McKenzie United remains a team capable of challenging higher-ranked opposition.
9. North Toronto (OPDL)
Record: 3-1-0 (OPDL Cup Champions)
North Toronto has enjoyed an impressive season and added an OPDL Cup championship to its résumé. Their success in Ontario highlights the quality within this 2009 group, with the team showing strong organization and the ability to perform in high-pressure matches. Their continued results have earned them a place among Canada’s top U17 programs.
10. Saskatoon Alliance Blue (PSL)
Record: 12-2-0
Saskatoon Alliance Blue has quietly put together one of the strongest seasons in the Prairies. Their disciplined defensive structure and efficient attack have allowed them to consistently pick up results, while their ability to remain composed in competitive matches has made them one of Saskatchewan’s top youth sides. Their strong record keeps them firmly in the national conversation heading into the final stretch of the season.
