FTF Canada continues to create strong pathways into U SPORTS, as Combine alumni Velan Arul has officially committed to McMaster University and the McMaster Marauders men’s soccer program.
A product of Ottawa Futsal Club, Arul earned his opportunity through standout performances at the Euro ID 2024 and Vancouver March Break Combine 2024, where McMaster University staff were in attendance identifying top talent.
Competing in high-level environments, Arul demonstrated his ability to perform against strong competition, showcasing his technical quality, decision-making, and consistency. His performances across these events led to direct recruitment interest from McMaster. He was also recognized nationally with a #38 ranking in the 2025 Grad Class, highlighting his status as a top prospect within Canadian soccer.
His commitment to McMaster University marks the next step in both his academic and athletic career, where he will compete in U SPORTS within the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference, one of the most competitive university soccer environments in Canada.
Arul’s pathway highlights the impact of FTF Canada’s event platform. Through events such as the Euro ID Showcase and Vancouver March Break Combine, players are provided with direct exposure to attending university programs and the opportunity to convert strong performances into next-level opportunities.
