The U16 (2010) boys division continues to showcase some of the highest-quality youth soccer in Canada as the 2026 season enters its final stages. Clubs across the country have separated themselves through strong league performances, tournament success, player development, and consistency against top opposition. With the BCSPL, PLSJQ, OPDL, APDL, and other high-performance leagues producing competitive matchups throughout the summer, the race for national recognition remains extremely tight. As provincial competitions and league seasons approach their conclusion, here are FTF Canada’s updated Top U16 (2010) Boys Teams for September 2026.
1. AS Laval (PLSJQ)
Record: 13-1-3
AS Laval has continued its impressive campaign in Quebec, combining disciplined team play with excellent technical ability. The club has consistently produced results against strong PLSJQ competition while maintaining one of the province’s top player development environments. Their balance throughout the squad and ability to compete in difficult matches have made them a legitimate national contender.
2. Edmonton BTB (APDL)
Record: 10-1-3
Edmonton BTB has put together another excellent season in Alberta, combining defensive resilience with an effective attacking style. Losing only once throughout the campaign highlights their consistency and ability to perform against quality opposition. Their disciplined approach and strong team structure have made them one of the APDL’s standout U16 teams.
3. North Mississauga (OPDL)
Record: 4-0-0
North Mississauga has made an impressive impact in the OPDL and continues to establish itself as one of Ontario’s teams to watch. Their unbeaten record reflects a disciplined and competitive group that has shown quality on both sides of the ball. With strong technical ability and a promising group of 2010 players, North Mississauga continues to build a strong case for national recognition.
4. Coastal FC (BCSPL)
Record: 17-2-3
Coastal FC has enjoyed another outstanding season and continues to establish itself as one of the country’s most complete teams. Their impressive record reflects an exciting blend of attacking quality, defensive organization, and squad depth. Week after week, Coastal has proven capable of competing with the very best in the BCSPL while maintaining one of Canada’s strongest overall resumes.
5. Coquitlam Metro Ford (BCSPL)
Record: 17-1-4
Coquitlam Metro Ford continues to be one of the strongest teams in British Columbia, producing excellent results in one of Canada’s toughest youth leagues. Their ability to control possession, create scoring opportunities, and consistently earn results has made them one of the country’s most complete U16 sides. With only one defeat all season, Coquitlam remains firmly in the national conversation.
6. Burlington SC (OPDL)
Record: 2-2-0
Burlington SC continues to compete against some of Ontario’s strongest U16 opposition in the OPDL. The team has shown the ability to play at a high level while continuing to develop a talented group of 2010 players. Their technical quality and competitive mentality make Burlington a team capable of challenging strong opposition as the season progresses.
7. AS Blainville (PLSJQ)
Record: 8-4-1
AS Blainville continues to be one of Quebec’s most respected youth programs, consistently competing near the top of the PLSJQ. Their organized defensive structure, disciplined style of play, and commitment to player development have allowed them to remain among the province’s elite. Blainville continues to prove it can compete with the best teams in Canada.
8. Surrey United (BCSPL)
Record: 7-6-9
Surrey United remains one of Canada’s premier development programs and continues to compete against some of the strongest opposition in British Columbia. The BCSPL remains one of the country’s most competitive leagues, and Surrey’s technical quality, tactical discipline, and ability to produce high-level talent keep them firmly in the national conversation. Their experience in high-level competition continues to provide valuable opportunities for this 2010 group.
9. Woodbridge SC (OPDL)
Record: 1-0-3 (Umbro Showcase Champions)
Woodbridge SC continues to set the standard in Ontario and remains one of Canada’s premier U16 programs. The team has maintained strong momentum following its Umbro Showcase championship, demonstrating exceptional technical quality, defensive organization, and composure in high-pressure matches. With one of the deeper squads in the country, Woodbridge remains a serious contender as the OPDL season reaches its final stages.
10. Calgary Villains (APDL)
Record: 8-3-3
Calgary Villains has continued to compete at a high level throughout the APDL season. The club has shown excellent balance across the field, combining disciplined defending with an attack capable of creating chances against strong opposition. Their consistency and competitive performances have earned them a place among Canada’s top U16 programs.
