The FTF Toronto Summer Combine, held at Creditview Sandalwood Park from July 14th to 16th, was a vibrant showcase of talent! The three-day event kicked off with testing on Day 1, featuring the 40-yard dash, 5-10-5 agility test, fitness assessment, and vertical jump. Days 2 and 3 focused on gameplay, offering players the opportunity to be coached by college coaches from across North America. These competitive matches allowed participants to impress the attending coaches, both in person and via live stream. The combine was an exciting display of skill, and we are eager to highlight the top performers:
Overall MVP – Sunny Noble | LW | Ilderton Ignite Elite | 2028 Grad
Sunny Noble, a 2028 Grad from Ilderton Ignite Elite, was crowned Overall MVP after a strong showing over the course of the combine. Sunny impressed everyone at the combine with her mix of technical ability and physicality. She was constantly looking to receive the ball to feet and drive at her fullback, engaging them 1v1. In these situations she would use a combination of pace and tricks to beat her fullbacks and get into the opponent’s box. A strong ball-striker with an eye for goal, Sunny created plenty of chances for her teammates as well, proving her worth as both a goalscoring and creative winger. Sunny also showed she was a dual-threat offensively, looking to receive the ball in-behind and to feet. She capped off her performances with an excellent hat-trick.
Goalkeeper MVP – Clare Morrallee | GK | Hamilton United | 2028 Grad
Clare Morrallee, a 2028 Grad from Hamilton United, earned Goalkeeper MVP after a dominating display through the two days. Standing at an impressive 5’11, Clare consistently used her size to her advantage. Her defending of crosses impressed – she commanded her six-yard box well, looking to get a hand to any ball coming into her zone. Clare’s composure with the ball at her feet was impressive, and she displayed great accuracy with a variety of passes. Her strengths showed the most in 1v1 situations – she did an excellent job of making herself as big as possible, and pulled off a number of impressive saves.
Defender MVP – Elle Iarusso | CB | Soo United | 2028 Grad
Elle Iarusso, a 2028 Grad from Soo United, was awarded Defender MVP for an imposing performance at the heart of the back line. Elle proved to be a tough test for opposing attackers, with a combination of physicality and game understanding. She never shied away from a physical duel and showed high levels of anticipation to step to an opponent about to receive the ball, doing well to put them off. Elle arguably impressed more with her quality on the ball. She displayed an excellent passing range, whether it was a pass through the lines into a midfielder or a long switch out to the opposite winger. Her composure under pressure was also on display, as she consistently got away from pressing forwards with quick feet. Elle proved she could be an asset to any team looking for a ball-playing defender.

Out of possession, Nicole would consistently press opposition defenders and fight for loose balls. She showed a great understanding of how to use her physicality, defenders were struggling to knock her off the ball once she got into stride. Nicole’s display over the combine was an impressive showing of clinicality and physicality.
