May was a statement month for U16 (2009) girls teams across the country, as clubs hit the ground running, Ontario Provincial Team players returned to their club sides following marquee matchups against NDC Ontario in late April. With talent-rich rosters and competitive resumes from leagues and tournaments across Canada, here are the FTF Canada Top 10 U16 Girls Teams as of May 2025.
1. Woodbridge Strikers (Ontario) – OPDL
Record: 2 Wins, 0 Losses | +8 Goal Differential
The No. 1 team to start the summer, Woodbridge’s dominance at the Umbro Super Pro Division puts them at the top of the table. Their title run included a convincing win over the Calgary Villains in the final, and impressive round-robin victories over OSU, FC Durham, and North Vancouver. They defeated a team from BC, Alberta and two teams from Ontario. They fully showed Ontario’s strength at this age group and continue to raise the bar across the province.

2. CS St-Hubert (Quebec) – PLSJQ
Record: 5 Wins, 1 Loss | 15 Points
A consistent force in Quebec’s top-tier competition, CS St-Hubert is unbeaten aside from a narrow 1-0 loss to Beauport. Their balanced attack and disciplined defending make them one of the most complete teams in Quebec’s (PLSJQ). Their consistency through league play justifies their #2 ranking in the nation.
3. Union Lanaudière Sud (Quebec) – PLSJQ
Record: 5 Wins, 1 Loss | 15 Points
Another standout from the PLSJQ, Union Lanaudière Sud sits level on points with CS St-Hubert, with their only blemish being a head-to-head loss to them. Their competitive fire and clean wins over mid-table opposition show they’re a threat every time they step on the pitch and a legitimate provincial title contender.
4. St. Albert Impact (Alberta) – APDL
Record: 10 Wins, 1 Loss, 2 Ties | +38 Goal Differential
The highest-scoring side on this list, St. Albert Impact are making waves in Alberta’s top youth competition. A +38 goal differential is no small feat and speaks to their dominance week in and week out. Their ability to control matches and finish chances puts them among the national elite.
5. LFC Mississauga IA (Ontario) – OPDL
Record: 3 Wins, 0 Losses | +10 Goal Differential
LFC Mississauga stormed through the Umbro Super Elite Division, edging out a tough Barrie Spirit side 2-1 in the final. Their clean record and dominant goal differential show that this team is battle-tested in tournament environments and dangerous on the counter. A strong campaign so far keeps them firmly in Ontario’s top tier.

6. Burnaby FC (British Columbia) – BCSPL
Record: 8 Wins, 2 Losses | +13 Goal Differential
As the current standout from British Columbia, Burnaby FC is having a strong year in league play, being crowned BCSPL champions. With disciplined defense, a fluid attack and depth across positions, they’ve proven capable of managing close games and pulling out key results in the BCSPL. The only hindering factor from them not being higher on this list is a recent dip of form in losses to Surrey United and Langley United, honourably mentioned on this list. 7. Calgary Foothills (Alberta) – APDL
Record: 7 Wins, 3 Losses | +22 Goal Differential
Foothills have had an up-and-down start to the year, but their explosive offense (+22 GD) shows just how dangerous they can be. When they’re clicking, they’re one of the most dangerous teams in Alberta. With experience in high-pressure situations, Foothills remain one of the province’s premier programs.
8. Calgary Rangers (Alberta) – APDL
Record: 7 Wins, 4 Losses, 1 Tie | +7 Goal Differential
The Rangers’ season includes critical wins over provincial rivals Calgary Villains, a team that beat Ontario powerhouses Markham SC and Vaughan at Umbro. Despite a semi-final exit at the Family Day Showdown, the Rangers have compiled a solid record and demonstrated their ability to take down top opposition when it matters.

9. Surrey United (British Columbia) – BCSPL
Record: 6 Wins, 2 Losses, 2 Ties | +10 Goal Differential
Surrey United continues to be a consistent performer in the BCSPL, with solid results and a positive GD. Their depth and possession-based style have allowed them to stay competitive with the province’s best, and they remain one of BC’s strongest sides in the age group. Their winning result against league winners Burnaby FC was substantial and contributed to their #9 ranking in the country.
10. Oakville SC (Ontario) – OPDL
Record:3 Wins, 0 Losses in league play | +9 Goal Differential
While their sample size is smaller, Oakville SC currently is 3-0 in the league. Although not the best performance in the Umbro Emerald Division. Despite a narrow loss to THPFC and a draw with Dixie, Oakville’s strong defensive record and tournament performance give them a foothold in the national top 10.
