As of August 2025, FTF Canada’s The Playbook delivers its latest update on the nation’s top U-17 boys teams (born in 2008). With the PDP National Championships and a full slate of summer showcases now complete, these rankings spotlight the best of the best across Canada. The list sets the stage for which programs are peaking at the right time and making the biggest statements on the national stage.

  1. Woodbridge Strikers OPDL 2008 Boys

The Woodbridge Strikers OPDL 2008 Boys have been in top form, opening their campaign with a flawless 3-0-0 record. Their dominance was on full display at the PDP National Championships, where they earned a convincing 7-1 win over Burnaby FC in the group stage before capping off their run with a statement 2-0 victory over Vaughan OPDL 2008 in the national final. Balanced, disciplined, and clinical in the attacking third, Woodbridge have firmly established themselves as one of the premier sides in the country at the U-17 level.

That result highlighted their defensive organization and ability to rise to the occasion against elite opposition. While their record sits at 0-0-0, the Wave demonstrated they can hold their own on the national stage and remain a program with plenty of promise at the U-17 level.

  1. Suburban u17 Academy Boys

Suburban U17 Academy Boys had a strong showing this season, finishing with a 1-1-0 record that included a dominant 4-0 victory over UDFC U17 AAA Boys. BTB Soccer Academy 2008B have enjoyed an impressive season, compiling a 10-2-1 record that underscores their consistency and quality on the field.
