The Boys FTF Vancouver Summer Combine, held from July 14th to 16th, brought together top youth talent from across the region for a high-level showcase of athleticism and skill. The event kicked off with a testing day, where players were evaluated through a series of performance metrics including the 30m dash, 5-10-5 agility test, vertical jump, and the yo-yo endurance test. The following two days were dedicated entirely to competitive matches, giving players the opportunity to display their abilities in a game setting. A wide range of collegiate coaches—from various levels—were in attendance both in person and via livestream, closely scouting the next generation of talent.

Finley Comstock earned Overall MVP honours for his consistent goal-scoring impact and attacking quality throughout the combine. A dynamic forward with a natural eye for goal, Finley finds space in the box, finishes with both power and precision, and delivers in key moments. He’s not just a scorer — his ability to set up teammates adds another layer to his game, making him a dual threat in the final third. Finley’s instincts, timing, and technical quality make him a constant danger around the goal.
Goalkeeper MVP – Gavin Wagstaff | GK | Coastal FC BCSPL | 2028 Grad
Gavin Wagstaff stood out as the top goalkeeper at the FTF Vancouver Summer Combine, showcasing athleticism, technical sharpness, and maturity beyond his years. His shot-stopping ability was impressive, consistently making high-level saves under pressure, but what truly separated him was his composure, clean distribution, and decision-making in key moments. For a young keeper, Gavin’s command of his area and understanding of the game point to a high ceiling. He’s a prospect with the tools and mentality to succeed at the collegiate level and beyond.
Defender MVP – Reece Curtis | CB | North Vancouver Football Club | 2027 Grad
At the FTF Combine, Reece Curtis stood out as the Defensive MVP with a commanding presence on the backline. He consistently showed composure under pressure and made smart decisions in tight situations. His ability to distribute the ball with accuracy, both short and long, highlighted his technical quality and vision from the back. Reece also delivered several key defensive interventions, including well-timed tackles and blocks, anchoring his team with confidence and control. Midfielder MVP – Jhozar Muallam | CDM | North Surrey Football Club | 2027 Grad
Jhozar Muallam is a high-IQ defensive midfielder who controls the game with precision and composure. His technical ability, sharp awareness, and elite passing accuracy allow him to dictate tempo and connect all phases of play. Attacker MVP – Luis Manuel Gonzalez Campos | ST | Bays United FC | 2026 Grad
Luis Manuel Gonzalez Campos is a dominant 6’5 forward who earned Forward MVP honours after leading the combine in goals. A clinical striker with a natural instinct for scoring, Luis consistently finishes his chances with power and precision. His size makes him a constant aerial threat, but it’s his movement, timing, and composure in front of goal that set him apart. Whether holding up play or attacking space, Luis is a true finisher who makes the most of every opportunity.
Young Player MVP – Kai Jackman | CB | NVFC | 2028 Grad
Kai Jackman was unquestionably the standout young talent earning MVP honors with a performance that reflected both physical dominance and football intelligence well beyond his age. His athleticism and powerful frame allowed him to consistently win individual battles, while his timing and decision-making in duels showed a mature understanding of when and how to engage. Kai’s presence on the pitch was commanding . He played with the poise of an older player and impacted games on both sides of the ball. His performance left no doubt that he has the tools to excel at the next level and develop into a top-tier player.
